The Gaspésie is a haven for fishing and hunting enthusiasts. A permit is mandatory in order to fish and hunt in Québec. Permits are available from authorized agents (sporting good shops) and at hunting and fishing sites.

The Ministère des Ressources naturelles de la Faune et des Parcs du Québec publishes a series of guides which describe the regulations and the many possibilities for hunting and fishing in Québec (also available at permanent tourist information centres).  For any information regarding regulations, toll-free in Québec: 1 800 561-1616, (418) 521-3830 (outside Québec), www.mrnf.gouv.qc.ca.
