Come and celebrate this lighthouse's hundredth anniversary, lighted in 1908. Admire the view from the top of the lighthouse. Take the time to look out into the water, you will see some Northern Gannets and maybe some whales.

The museum tells the story of the Grand Sault, the "paper mill", the life of the people from Madeleine and the fog alarm system in the 1920s.  In the guard houses, visit the local souvenir and handicraft shop… it's the ideal place to take a coffee break and check your messages on the Internet. For those on organized trips, this visit is a relaxing experience. The site is accessible to recreational vehicles. Night parking is also possible.

Eleven kilometres away in the forest, the Madeleine River makes a "grand fall" from 25 metres where the salmon go through an underground fish-pass cut in the rock, which is the only one of its kind in the world. The salmon spawning run takes place from early July to the end of September, watch the rising of the cage daily at 8 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. For more safety, please check at the lighthouse site to find out about road conditions. Take the time to walk along the fine sand barachois, to admire the sunsets over the cliffs and sailboats in the marina. Schedule: early June to mid-October. Group rates.

Located in an amazing vista, this historic site was a strategic communications centre during the two World Wars. It was here, in 1904, that Marconi installed North America's first maritime radio station.

Visit the most travelled lighthouse (one hundred years old) in the world; it returned to its initial site in 1997 after a 20-year exile in the Port of Québec. Thanks to exhibits, you can learn about Mr. Marconi, the lives of wireless telegraphy operators and lighthouse keepers and their families. Following the trail of the pioneers, hiking trails take you into the mountains, by the sea or all the way to the fishing harbour at L'Anse-à-Valleau.
