Witness to more than two centuries of great saga of the Gaspesian fishery, the eleven buildings of the Site historique du Banc-de-Pêche-de-Paspébiac present a majestic presence.
Permeated with ocean air, “the walls tell you their stories”. The voices and traditional skills of the animation team allow you to re-live the great adventures of the two major Jersey companies of the 18th and 19th centuries – that of the Robin’s and that of the LeBoutillier’s. Experience the daily work of ship-building, the repair of fish-nets, the forging of metal and the making of barrels. Exhibitions, theatrical animation and video presentations are only a part of the experience that will allow you to discover how the fisheries developed in eastern Canada.
On site, you will also find a restaurant specializing in fish and seafood, a souvenir boutique as well as a theatre. A children’s playground, a campground on the shore and a marina are close by – to complete the pleasure of your visit.
This summer, visit the Site historique du Banc-de-Pêche-de-Paspébiac! Charm, pleasure and adventure…
