La Mitis

Thanks to record snowfalls, Murdochville is a popular destination for snowmobilers, who like to stay at Hôtel Copper. The 24-room motel-style establishment is renowned for offering a warm and friendly service and is a great place to meet other snowmobilers.
The hotel also offers a bar and a dining room serving home-style cuisine. The varied menu includes grilled meat and chicken dishes as well as soups and salads. The basement houses an impressive exhibition of some 60 vintage snowmobiles belonging to the hotel’s owners, brothers Jacques and Bernard Gauthier. Important Information
The snowmobile bridge on Trans-Québec trail #5 in Sainte-Madeleine-de-la-Rivière-Madeleine is closed for the 2025/2026 season. A shuttle is available to safely cross the river. The service is offered free of charge, with no reservation required, from January 12 to April 3, 2026, between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Snowmobilers can wait in heated areas set up near the site. Up to four snowmobiles can be transported at a time.
