Exploramer

Located along the wharf in Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, Exploramer is a science museum focused on the marine environment of the St. Lawrence. Offering an aquarium with touch pools as well as exhibitions, sea excursions, a fish-harvesting activity and the Smarter Seafood certification program, Exploramer invites visitors to discover the sea.

Board the C-E Marin Exploramer and discover a plankton laboratory at sea, watch rock crab and whelk traps being hauled out of the water and participate in scientific data collection. This is a fun hands-on way to discover the fascinating world of the St. Lawrence! Put on a pair of waders and follow the guide out into the water to the fyke net. Take advantage of low tide to discover what is hidden underwater and learn about the plants and animals that live there. This experience is an opportunity to explore the shoreline of Gaspésie and discover various species caught in a fishing net.

“Dare to Taste” activity: This guided tasting activity will allow you to discover responsible seafood options offered by the St. Lawrence and taste five marine species promoted by the Smarter Seafood program.

Day camp: This science day camp is offered to children aged 6 to 11 on Mondays and Fridays throughout the summer. Using a fun and educational approach, the day camp gives children the opportunity to learn more about various species of marine life found in the St. Lawrence. Please note that this day camp is available in French only. (It could provide a good French immersion experience for children with some prior knowledge of the language.)
