Whether you need to avoid stairs, limit travel once you are here or benefit from adapted facilities, accessible options are available throughout the region.
About 100 tourism-related sites already offer recognized accessible facilities, including lodging establishments, restaurants, attractions and companies offering activities. To find them easily, use the appropriate search filters on our website. What is available is constantly evolving, with new accessible services and establishments being added every year.
Although travelling in the winter can be extra challenging, the region can be explored nearly year-round. Just going for a road trip along the coastline and through the mountains will provide a complete change of scenery!

The CAL program allows people with disabilities to be accompanied for free during activities offered to the public and is applicable at about 60 sites in Gaspésie. This program was established by the AQLPH, an association promoting leisure activities for people with disabilities, in collaboration with the regional sports and leisure unit in Gaspésie–Îles-de-la-Madeleine.

Did you know that about 20 Kéroul-certified attractions are accessible in Gaspésie? These include the Musée de la Gaspésie and the Musée Acadien du Québec, both of which are open year-round. Other options are the Reford Gardens, the Bioparc (a wildlife park) as well as various historic sites, art galleries, shops and performance venues. Use the “Entirely accessible” or “Partially accessible” filters on our website to find them easily.

Over 25 establishments offer accessible accommodations, ranging from hotels and inns to cottages and glamping units. Spread throughout the region, they are located in Matane, Gaspé, Percé, New Richmond, Carleton-sur-Mer and Amqui. In the winter, nearly 20 of these establishments remain open to welcome you.

Some beaches and seaside areas offer assistive devices such as access mats and beach wheelchairs. This is the case at Penouille Beach in Forillon Park, Haldimand Beach in Gaspé and the beach in Carleton-sur-Mer. The wharves and boardwalks in Bonaventure, Percé, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts and Sainte-Flavie also provide easy access to the sea, allowing all visitors to enjoy the scenery and admire sunsets.

Some outdoor activities offered in Gaspésie are accessible. These include some of the trails in Forillon National Park, the suspended platform at the Chute à Philomène waterfall as well as various accessible walks and lookouts. You can also enjoy sea outings with Exploramer or TaxSea and skiing with adapted equipment in the winter.
