Enjoy Gaspésie’s Beaches All Year Round

All around the peninsula, Gaspésie’s beaches allow you to enjoy the sea in every season. From sandy or pebbly shores to red cliffs and hidden coves, each coastal village offers unique landscapes. Public access points lead directly to the water.

In spring or autumn, people visit the beach to read, watch seals, or search for the polished glass pieces known as “mermaid tears.” In summer, beaches are perfect for playing in the water, building sandcastles, sharing a picnic, or enjoying an aperitif. In winter, the sea takes on a different character, but you can still walk along the shore and, in some places, spot fishing huts. Year-round, you can breathe in the salty air or take a stroll with your dog.

Most of Gaspésie’s beaches are also worth visiting at sunrise and sunset, when the landscape takes on ever-changing and sometimes unexpected hues.

Two small pebble beaches are worth exploring in this area. Anse du Sud offers a boardwalk with amenities and tourist activities, while the quieter Anse du Nord provides a different perspective of the rock.
Haldimand Beach, Gaspé

Gaspé

Haldimand Beach is one of the most popular in the region, and for good reason. It offers stunning views of Forillon National Park. Spacious and supervised, it charms visitors with its golden sand, a variety of amenities (playground, snack bar, picnic tables), and facilities accessible to people with reduced mobility.

Mont-Saint-Pierre

Located in a cove at the foot of the mountains, the beach offers stunning views of the village and surrounding hills. On site, you’ll find picnic areas, nearby dining, a volleyball court, sand play equipment, and facilities accessible to people with reduced mobility. A stage also hosts occasional small events to enhance your visit.
Beaubassin Beach, Bonaventure

Bonaventure

Very popular with families, Beaubassin Beach stands out for its sand, perfect for building sandcastles, and its easy access to the water. The pleasant temperature allows children to play for hours. Located on the Bonaventure Beach Circuit, it also features a 4 km bike path and a nearby campground.

Carleton-sur-Mer

At the end of the Carleton-sur-Mer barachois stands Pointe Tracadigash. The site features a playground, restroom facilities, and a charming lighthouse. In summer, storytelling evenings are held around a campfire. A bike path connects the point to the campground and the heart of the village.
