If you’re looking for real mountains and trails suited to snowshoeing, Gaspésie stands out. Its unique playground and the natural snowfall that blankets the peaks from November to March—sometimes longer—make the region exceptional in winter. In Parc national de la Gaspésie and the Chic-Chocs Wildlife Reserve, you can climb snow-covered peaks rising over 1,000 meters. Around Gaspé or Percé, you’ll follow the shoreline and catch sight of Percé Rock. Across the region, well-maintained municipal trails round out the offer, perfect for a peaceful stroll near the chalet.

Winter hiking may involve muddy trails, snow at higher elevations, and very cold temperatures. Make sure to wear appropriate clothing.

Le Parc national de la Gaspésie and the Chic-Chocs Wildlife Reserve offer over 100 km of trails, many suitable for all skill levels. With 25 peaks over 1,000 meters, groomed cross-country ski trails, marked Nordic ski routes, and shelters, there’s plenty to extend your adventure.

Thanks to a team of volunteers, 20 km of cross-country ski and snowshoe trails are maintained throughout the winter in the La Vallée area. You can ski through fields and spruce and oak forests over varied terrain. Overnight stays are available in a heated yurt.
