Experience a Sea Excursion in Gaspésie

Looking to head out to sea? In Gaspésie, nautical excursions bring you closer to the ocean and its wonders.

Whether by cruise, inflatable boat, sea kayak, paddleboard, or sailboat, each outing lets you explore cliffs, spot whales, and observe seabirds. If you have your own boat, some areas—like Chaleur Bay—are particularly well suited for launching.

Here, the sea is salty, cold, and the tides are strong. To enjoy it safely, it’s best to be well prepared or to go with a guide. Many local companies offer guided excursions from May to October. In autumn, the landscapes burst with vibrant colors and whales are still offshore. In spring, a few trips even allow paddling among the ice as the sea begins to clear.

Depending on the season, up to six whale species can be found in Gaspé Bay and the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Percé and Bonaventure Island Cruise
