Enjoy the Beaches of Gaspésie Year-Round

Located all around the Gaspé Peninsula, beaches allow you to enjoy the sea in every season. From sandy or pebbly beaches to red cliffs and hidden coves, each coastal village features a shoreline with unique landscapes. Public access points lead directly to the water.

In the spring or fall, you can visit the beach to read, watch seals or search for smooth bits of glass known as mermaid’s tears. In the summer, beaches are the perfect place to play in the water, build sandcastles, share a picnic or enjoy an aperitif. In the winter, the sea takes on a completely different appearance, but you can still walk along the shore, and you may even spot fishing huts on the ice. Year-round, you can breathe in the salty sea air and go for a stroll with your dog.

Most of the beaches in Gaspésie are also worth visiting at sunrise or sunset, when the landscape changes colours, sometimes in unexpected ways.

There are two small pebble beaches worth exploring in the Percé area. Anse du Sud offers a boardwalk with amenities and tourist activities, while the quieter Anse du Nord allows you to admire Percé Rock from another angle.
Haldimand Beach, Gaspé

Gaspé

Haldimand Beach is one of the most popular in the region for good reason. For starters, visitors are sure to be charmed by the beach’s golden sand and stunning views of Forillon National Park. Large and supervised, the beach is also accessible to people with reduced mobility and offers a variety of amenities, including a playground, snack bar and picnic area.
Mont-Saint-Pierre

Mont-Saint-Pierre

Located along a cove at the foot of several mountains, the beach in Mont-Saint-Pierre offers stunning views of the village and surrounding scenery. On site, you will find picnic tables, places to grab a bite to eat, a volleyball court, beach games and an outdoor stage that occasionally hosts small events open to the public. This beach is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Beaubassin Beach, Bonaventure

Bonaventure

Very popular with families, the Beaubassin Beach offers sand that is perfect for building sandcastles and an easy access to the shoreline. The pleasant temperature of the water allows children to play for hours. Part of the Bonaventure Beach Tour (Circuit des Plages), this beach also features a 4-km bike path and a nearby campground.

Carleton-sur-Mer

Pointe Tracadigash is located at the tip of a spit of land that separates the Carleton Barachois from the sea. The site features a playground, restroom facilities and a charming lighthouse. In the summer, storytelling evenings are held around a bonfire. A bike path connects the point to a campground and the heart of the village.
