Discover ATV Trails in Gaspésie

In the summer or fall, hop on your ATV or side-by-side and discover all that Gaspésie has to offer. The region boasts nearly 2600 km of marked ATV trails, allowing you to create various routes depending on the time you have available. You can explore vast forested areas, cross the Chic-Chocs, admire the St. Lawrence and coastal villages, or head to the famous Percé Rock!

La Matapédia, which is probably the most popular ATV destination in Gaspésie, offers a multitude of loop ride options. This sector boasts over 700 km of high-quality marked trails that feature many points of interest, such as observation towers and suspended lookouts. The local ATV club also hosts an annual quad festival.

Throughout the region, you will find welcoming accommodation establishments and excellent restaurants. Note that no guiding services are offered in the region and that rentals are limited. The experience is primarily enjoyed independently.

Important Information

A trail pass is required to ride on ATV trails in Québec. Visit the Québec Quad Federation (FQCQ) website for more information.
Note that some trails may be closed in the fall during hunting season in ZECs and wildlife reserves.
Rail traffic is now authorized between Mont-Joli and Port-Daniel, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When riding an ATV, stay clear of the railway tracks, remain alert at level crossings, and obey all posted signage.
Only the trails maintained by the Les Aventuriers de la Baie quad club in the La Baie-des-Chaleurs sector are open in the winter in Gaspésie. Check trail conditions before you head out.
At the moment, you cannot complete a full tour of Gaspésie on an ATV due to trail closures. Consult the interactive trail map to plan your outings.

The Chic-Chocs

With 25 peaks over 1000 metres high, the Chic-Chocs form a true barrier at the heart of Gaspésie. You can admire these impressive mountains by exploring the trails in the Réserve faunique de Matane or by following trail #30, which connects various municipalities along the northern side of the peninsula, from Sainte-Paule, near Matane, to Petite-Vallée.

La Matapédia

The La Matapédia ATV club has carefully marked the trails in its network as well as developed an app to help riders discover points of interest. Along the trails, you will find four observation towers as well as boardwalks and lookouts, including one at the Chute à Philomène waterfall. This sector boasts over 700 km of trails and forest roads, offering many opportunities for one-day loops.

Quad Festival

In late August, join hundreds of ATV enthusiasts at the Festival Quad Matapédien. Held annually for over 20 years in the La Matapédia sector, this festival brings quad riders together for guided outings, friendly dinners and lively evening events, in a festive and welcoming atmosphere.
