Saint-René-de-Matane (municipalité)

The Matane River runs through this municipality, making it a popular salmon-fishing destination and for the wildlife reserve present on its territory. Several waterways converge here, and the two covered bridges are heritage attractions worth seeing. 

Post office (playground nearby), convenience store, restaurants, smokehouse, accommodations, campground, ATV and snowmobile trails, sugar bushes. Head south on Route 195 to reach the Réserve faunique de Matane, a wildlife reserve that is home to one of the highest concentrations of moose in Québec. Wildlife observation, fishing, hunting and hiking (International Appalachian Trail).
