Snowmobiling in Gaspésie

Renowned for its remarkable snowfall, La Matanie offers unforgettable experiences for snowmobilers. Explore nearly 350 km of trails winding through breathtaking landscapes from the majestic St. Lawrence to towering mountains. This sector not only offers access to the coast but is also a gateway to the Chic-Chocs.

The Matane and Chic-Chocs wildlife reserves are found in the snowiest part of the region. They also offer stunning views of Mont Albert, Mont Lyall and Mont McGerrigle, which are some of the highest peaks in the province.

Located at the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula, Percé is accessible by snowmobile via an 18-km local trail you can access from Trans-Québec trail #5. The local trail will take you to the top of Mont Sainte-Anne as well as near local lodging establishments, but snowmobiles are not allowed in the village itself. You can reach the wharf, the boardwalk and Percé Rock on foot.

From Pointe-à-la-Croix to Bonaventure, trails will take you through fields and forests as well as along rivers while offering a multitude of views of the frozen sea. Don’t miss the Montagne à Bouchard, which provides a panoramic view of Carleton-sur-Mer, the Carleton Barachois and Chaleur Bay as well as the Chic-Chocs and wind turbines. Many villages and services are easily accessible along the way.

At the border of La Mitis, this sector offers 445 km of snowmobile trails that are accessible early in the season. Discover the Saint-Pierre Mountain in La Rédemption, where you can admire snow ghosts, as well as Lake Matapédia, which is bordered by the towns of Sayabec, Val-Brillant and Amqui. Mont Val-d’Irène also offers remarkable panoramic views.
