The International Garden Festival is the largest contemporary garden festival in North America. Since its inception in 2000, nearly 200 gardens have been presented in situ in Grand-Métis and at off-site locations across Canada and abroad. The Festival takes place on a site adjacent to the historic gardens, creating a dialogue between history and modernity, conservation and innovation, tradition and experimentation.
Building on the three-year thematic cycle launched in 2025, the Festival’s 27th edition continues to explore our relationship with space and, more broadly, with the world around us. While Borders focused on the ways geographical space is organized and represented, immediately raising geopolitical concerns, this year’s theme, Mapping the Senses, marks an affective turn, inviting visitors to engage with the world through perception, emotion, and lived experience.
