Description
The Éole wind interpretation centre offers you the opportunity to visit an experimental energy plant with a unique design that was built in the 1980s and shut down in 1993. Éole was the largest wind turbine at the time and is still the highest vertical-axis wind turbine in the world.
Éole is the best place to learn all about the development of wind energy in Québec! A visit to this centre is also an opportunity to soak up the picturesque scenery found in the Le Nordais wind farm and surrounding area. While you are here, be sure to also visit the permaculture garden and explore the discovery trails. In the evening, you can climb the 100-metre tower upon reservation. A gift shop selling souvenirs and local handicrafts is also on site.
