What to do in Gaspésie in January

In January, Gaspésie reveals itself under a blanket of snow. Snowshoeing or ice hiking, downhill or backcountry skiing, and snowmobiling — there’s no shortage of activities. And if the snow is late to arrive, museums, cafés, and gourmet spots offer delightful alternatives. For New Year’s Day, there may not be large-scale events, but people celebrate with loved ones in restaurants, bars, or the cozy comfort of a chalet or spa.

Important Information

  • Winter hiking may involve muddy trails, snow at higher elevations, and very cold temperatures. Make sure to wear appropriate clothing.
