Day 1 – Arrival in Gaspésie and Overnight Stay at Gîte du Mont-Albert

Starting point: Parc national de la Gaspésie

Begin your getaway at the Mont-Joli Tourist Information Office to gather all the information you need for your trip. Then head to Parc national de la Gaspésie, where you’ll spend the night at the Gîte du Mont-Albert. Staying here gives you quick access to the Chic-Chocs trails bright and early the next morning. Before setting off, be sure to pack clothing and gear suited to Gaspésie’s ever-changing weather.

Day 2 – Hiking in Parc national de la Gaspésie

Starting point: Gîte du Mont-Albert

Discover the Chic-Chocs by hiking either Mount Albert or Mount Jacques-Cartier, two of the 25 peaks rising above 1,000 metres in park. Since temperatures can vary considerably at higher elevations, make sure you have appropriate footwear and clothing and are prepared to dress in layers.

Day 3 – Hiking in Mont-Saint-Pierre

Starting point: Parc national de la Gaspésie

Visit the Station de montagne sur mer de Mont-Saint-Pierre , which offers activities accessible in all weather conditions. Head to the ticket office in the village square to begin your visit, where you can enjoy interactive displays and an immersive scale model. Inside the former church, the Bell Tower Hall presents À vol d’oiseau, a sensory cinema experience simulating free flight.

Next, take the Delta hiking trail leading to the summit of Mont Saint-Pierre, at 430 metres above sea level. At the top, in addition to the spectacular viewpoint, you’ll find the Observatory featuring Odyssée, the hidden side of Mont Saint-Pierre, an immersive experience about the geological history of the glacial valley.

Extend your visit by walking across the suspended footbridge and exploring the interpretive trail dedicated to the mysterious “flying rocks.” For more hiking, the Lynx trail offers remarkable views of Mont François-Bernèche.

Day 4 – Hiking in Forillon National Park

Starting point: Saint-Maxime-du-Mont-Louis

Among the must-do hikes in Forillon National Park, you’ll find Mount Saint-Alban and the Les Graves trail, which leads to Cap Gaspé Lighthouse and the iconic “End of the World” lookout. For a longer outing, choose the Les Crêtes or Les Lacs trails.

Day 5 – Hiking and Visit to the Percé UNESCO Global Geopark

Day 6 – Hiking at Mont-Saint-Joseph Regional Park

Starting point: Percé

The lookout, perched at 555 metres above sea level, offers breathtaking views over the Baie des Chaleurs.
