Created in 1908, this village was called Nouvelle-et-Shoolbred-Partie-Sud-Ouest, named after the two townships that made up the village. The current name was adopted in 1912. This is where the westernmost part of Chaleur Bay starts. The bay is a lot narrower here, and you can see the province of New Brunswick on the other side. In the middle of the village, discover a magnificent roadside rest area with a lookout and playground. This municipality also includes the village of Pointe-à-la-Garde.
